3,100 acres in Rutland located between Stamford and Oakham. Celebrating its 30th birthday this year, Rutland Water was on top form in 2006 with a catch rate over the season of 3.3 per return and 60% of the fish weighing 2lbs or over. The fishery was voted best large stillwater by Todays Flyfisher magazine for 2006 and in 2007.

The lake holds both Rainbow & Brown trout - with Brownies 6 lb plus. There are just 20 pegs available with only 13 maximum available at any one time - Booking is essential for the Specimen Lake.
