Lymmvale is a former sand quarry of around 6½ acres. It is one of the most beautiful and enigmatic specimen waters anywhere in the country. The water holds the British golden orfe record but unfortunately these pretty fish have declined considerably in numbers. Specimen tench, chub, rudd, bream and barbel fishing is on offer here, with the tench fishing in particular providing some of the finest sport in the Northwest. Hauls of 30 tench in a session are common and fish to over the magical 10lb mark provide targets for the dedicated specimen hunter.

The water also hold a very good head of beautifully marked carp with the ghosties being the most attractive. Many of these fish are now over 20lb and a few have reached 30lb. Catfish to over 62lb round off the excellen range of specimens that hide in the depths of Lymmvale. Lymmvale’s stock pond contains numerous small tench, carp, roach and rudd and is an excellent float water.

Directions
Heading west along the M56, leave at junction 10 and take the A49 towards Whitchurch for around 9 miles. At the junction with the A556 turn left towards Manchester and at the next set of traffic lights turn right onto Dalefords Lane. Proceed for 2 miles and at the first crossroads turn right into Whitegate Way. Continue to a bridge and turn right 300 yards past this down hard track. Continue past the equestrian centre and farm buildings to the end. Paradise can be found in the form of Lymmvale.
