Witton Castle Catch Report - 1st Apr '12

Anglers have enjoyed some excellent hatches this week resulting in a two fold increase at the lakes to 158 visiting anlgers. Averaging 3.2 fish per customer.

Current water levels have not been affected during this dry spell, maintaining consistent sport. Black and olive buzzers are catching lots of fish and those who have reached their 15 bag limit have caught on small shuttlecock and f fly imitations.

Angel Lakes Catch Report - 1st April '12

Cracking fishing going on as water temperatures went to 17.4 deg on Monday, Then came the morning frosts and water temperatures drop to 9.8 deg with some great weights of fish being caught both pleasure of example Bob Hargreives from Newcastle on a day ticket took more than 120lb of carp, orfe. Skimmers and crucians with 4 tench as well on Lookout , and match weights of 54lb 10oz. Wellsfield Fishery Report - w/e 18/3/2012

A good week at Wellsfield Trout Fishery for many anglers. There is a very good head of trout in all 3 lochans at the moment for fly fishing, bait fishing and spinning. Most fish are taking about 2-3 feet down from the surface.

Best flies this week: Black & Green Fritz, Black Tadpole, Cormorant Variants, Claret Damsel, Buzzers, Diawl Bach. Best Baits: Maggots, Worms and Small Mepp Spinners.

Angel Lakes Catch Report - 18th March '12

Some cracking carp coming out with best on Lookout at 12lb 7oz and Bowes one of the monsters and in Bassets a 7lb 2oz  ghostie. Some excellent orfe to 3lb 6oz, tench in abundance to 8lb 1oz, and golden tench to 3lb 7oz, roach, and perch to 3lb.3oz , Rudd, Ide, Skimmers and some good bream to 4lb 7oz, best baits are maggot, pellet, try worm and tip it with corn or caster, but start to feed now with pellet, maggot, chopped worm as they need feeding.
