The weather during the week has affected the performance of the lake. This reflected on numbers of visiting anglers to just 98. Average fish-per-customer was 3.5.
Anglers who braved the changing weather still enjoyed some excellent sport. South Lakes fished well, Mr P Tennick landed a hard fighing 6.5lb rainbow on a black buzzer. Mr J Walker Junior caught his best fish of the season so far a 14lb rainbow on a Hares Ear CDC.
Ten talented local anglers turned out for Trout Masters fish-off qualifier on Saturday. Congratulations to Brian Conway winner of the senior group with a bag of 7lb 3/4oz and junior group winner is 6 year old Hayleigh-Jade Ord Renshaw (photograph enclosed) . Tight lines to both anglers who are representing Witton Castle Lakes in the finals (Grafham for Seniors, Stonebridge for Juniors).
The top four performing flies this week are: Buzzers Black & Olive, Hares Ear, Black Zonkers and Cats Wiskers.
The tagged fish still remains uncaught and the prize total has increased to £175

Customer satisfaction survey. Since 16th March we have been asking visiting anglers for their feedback. We have scored high on facilities and customer care and the management are now analysing the range of tickets available and how we can improve this service.
The lodge suffered a burglary during last week and many items were stolen. Thanks must go to local business owners Dave & Sandra Hayman from Jubilee Lake and Angler's Lodge for their support. With their help the shop was able to open and operate as normal, many thanks to them both. Witton Castle Lakes customers have not been affected as a result.
The lake has a new website and can be visited at www.wittoncastlelakes.com
